THE PALM BEACH COUNTY HOUSING AUTHORITY CELEBRATES GRAND OPENING TO TACKLE THE COUNTY’S HOUSING CRISIS
PBCHA Chair, Board of Directors, and Executive Director Invite Residents & Community Partners to Grand Re-Opening
WEST PALM BEACH, FL – The Palm Beach County Housing Authority (PBCHA) will host its official new headquarters grand opening in West Palm Beach, Florida.
PBCHA’s leadership & staff are committed to tackling the county’s growing housing crisis. The official grand opening solidifies PBCHA is open for business and ready to serve the community.
As the rate of housing insecurity continues to rise for many residents across the county, PBCHA is focused on providing affordable housing options that are free of housing discrimination and architectural barriers.
PBCHA is dedicated to providing quality living environments that meet high standards for urban design, building technology, and energy conservation. Recently, all operations were remote, not allowing face-to-face interaction for client services.
“It has been a roller coaster, and it’s mainly going up, just like the rent. We find it, even with the subsidies that we provide, that many of our families still are having difficulty finding housing,” said Executive Director of Palm Beach County Housing Authority, Carol Jones-Gilbert. “We know that there’s an incredible amount of need that far exceeds the supply.”
Now families looking for housing assistance can head to the new headquarters location at 3333 Forest Hill Blvd. in West Palm Beach.
Currently, PBCHA is providing rental assistance to more than 3,000 families, with over 19,000 applications on the waitlist for public housing.
The grand opening celebration and edutainment will focus on empowering guests. Throughout the night staff will conduct a thorough overview of the people, partners and programs of the PBC Housing Authority.
