The Palm Beach County Housing Authority is committed to provide services that will not just allow families and individuals to have access to safe, decent and affordable housing, but also services that improve their quality of life. As such, PBCHA is taking great measures to focus on resident initiatives that will assist families in transitioning from subsidy to economic self-sufficiency. PBCHA, in partnership with local agencies, will continue to expand Resident Services and the Family Self-Sufficiency Program to make sure the needs of residents and participants are met, barriers can be overcome and supportive services are streamlined.

Often referred to as “HUD’s best kept secret”, the Family Self-Sufficiency Program or FSS, is designed to assist voucher families reach economic independence and achieve self-sufficiency. It is important for the Housing Authority to work closely with key community partners to ensure the FSS families have every possibility to reach their goals.
