The Palm Beach County Housing Authority is committed to providing low-income families and individuals with access to safe, decent and affordable housing, and also providing linkage to supportive services that improve their quality of life. PBCHA is taking great measures to focus on resident initiatives that will assist families in transitioning from subsidy. PBCHA, in partnership with local agencies, will continue to expand Resident Services and the Family Self-Sufficiency Program ensuring residents and participants can overcome barriers, and attain self-sufficiency.
March 6, 2017- PBCHA hosted groundbreaking ceremonies for Covenant Villas and New South Bay Villas. Attendees included U.S. Congressman Alcee Hastings, representatives for Palm Beach County Commissioner Melissa McKinlay and the Department of Economic Sustainability, Mayor of Belle Glade Steve Wilson, Belle Glade City Manager Lomax Harrelle, Mayor of South Bay Joe Kyles, and South Bay City Manager Leondrae Camel.
The Palm Beach County Housing Authority (PBCHA/SPECTRA) is requesting proposals from highly qualified real estate development legal service firm(s) or attorney(s) with substantial previous development legal service experience, including all activities required to provide advisory services related to preparation of the agency to serve as its own developer; assist in preparation of HUD Mixed Finance transactions; assist in securing financing; and advise PBCHA on development options for achieving its mixed finance housing development goals.

Often referred to as “HUD’s best kept secret”, the Family Self-Sufficiency Program or FSS, is designed to assist voucher families reach economic independence and achieve self-sufficiency.
